JOIN WITH ME MY VALENTINE
Much the love I have for thee Are you so blind you cannot see? Feel my heart for just one beat Take a breath and feel the heat
I long to hold your hand in mine Pulsating through my very spine And feel our bodies touch once more To thrill my body to the core.
My love for you will never lie, Please, don’t let our love just die You are so special truly fine Please, join with me my valentine. Maggie© 2008 All rights Reserved M R Scott The above picture reminds of where I was when I recited this poem. The lighthouse would be where our hotel stood and if you can imagine the cliffe edge to curve around at the left, well that would be where the bar was we sat at every night. And of course the vision was me and my hubby. Hope you like it!.
A Romantic ViewSitting on a cliff edge my hubby and me.Watching the ripples on the deep blue sea.Splish splash against the rocksSoaking and splashing my brand new frockThe red sun sets slowly on the horizonResting on the sea, its not surprisingWe order a drink from the bar behindWe ask the waiter for a lemon and limeAs we sip through our refreshing drinkI look at my hubby saying it’s time to think. We reminise our life in the pastAnd wonder how we can make life lastWondering how we can slow down timeKnowing that our life’s been fineOur family has grown and we watched it allOh! how the grandchildren have grown so tallWhere is the sun I don’t see it anymoreThere’s only the moon appearing nowThe scenery in front and the laughing behind It’s so romantic here, we think it’s fineThe remaining years we will share together They have more meaning now, and will foreverIts peacefull here as though time stood stillMaybe we should stay I’m sure we will.Maggie© 2008 All rights Reserved M R Scott
COLOURED LEAVES OF AUTUMN Autumn leaves tumbling to the groundChanging their shades as they flutter aroundTints on trees so picturesqe to be seenBrown, red, orange, yellow and greenThe wind blowing through the newly shrewn leavesWhile they dance around in the breezeSunshine enriched berries so vivid they glowMaking the most of a spectacular showThe glistening leaves lay in a bedThe yellow and orange enhancing the redThe autumn season brings so much hueAbundance so brilliant vivid and new October CompetitionMaggie© 2008 All rights Reserved M R Scott
NOT JUST MY FRIENDIt’s long since I sat on your kneeIt felt so good when I was threeCurling my hair with your finger tipsKissing me sweetly with your tender lipsI did grow up and soon moved onI never thought you would soon be goneMemories are all I have todayBut love them dearly in a special wayYou were so young, and short of yearsI see you clearly in all my prayersYour life was sure for dancingAnd it certainly was enhancingA beautiful face, never ageing through timeRemembering you so fresh and fineAnd a smile, never to leave me somehowThat’s just how I remember you nowGod gave me the chance to say goodbyeStanding by I tried not to cryI always wished you could returnJust to be with you, one would yearnTo hold your hand for just one dayTo look in your face and hope to sayYou were so special I needed no otherBecause you were just there being my mother Maggie© 2008 All rights Reserved M R Scott
THINKING OF YOU AT CHRISTMAS TIME
It’s Christmas Eve and we’re apartYour always here deep in my heartI hope you know I’m thinking of youI hope you don’t start feeling blueThe miles apart are long and farWe just need to wish upon a starTime passing now till I return While we’re apart I really yearnAs time ticks away by the hourI think of you as a beautiful flowerWhen I return the sun will shineThe flower will open and you’ll be mineYou are the star I wish uponYou are the gem that I hold onThe love we share keeps on growingThe love we share just keeps on flowingI smell your perfume in the breezeIt seems to flow right through the treesI just want to give you a real hug tightI want to be near and close tonight Maggie© 2008 All rights Reserved M R Scott
A WINTER POEM Winters arrived without a choiceBirds have migrated we miss their voiceThey need to leave when summers goneThe trees so bare their leaves forgoneThe swans are skidding on the an icy lakeWings stretched wide and giving them a shakeOur winter birds are now arrivingFor winters here their so busy flyingThe skies now darkened for winter timeThe sun so watery it barely shinesFoggy mornings are causing some havocJamming up the rush hour trafficHalloween witches took off in flightBonfires and fireworks so bright in the nightCold feet and snow and wintery showersThe gardens so bare and with no pretty flowers The mornings so dark when we awake The evenings so cold and our bodies acheCurtains drawn and candles burningWe just can’t wait for summer returningMaggie © 2008 All rights Reserved M R ScottPOETRY AND FUN QUIZ NIGHTS :laugh1: :laugh1: :laugh1: We are the Poetry and Fun group, nothing but the bestHave some fun and feel relaxed even if to have a restWe have lots of members and all are differentSome are mad and some are giftedWe came on tonight to do the quizOh cath is just a real good whizAsking the questions one by oneWhere’re all answering best we canBefore we know it the scores come throughWho is it this week? | Hello Maggie, I've just found this section of Poetry and Friends Group and what a treat to read so many wonderful and diverse poems. I've just finished reading all of yours which are so beautiful. :sunny: What struck me about all of them was how much love shines out from them, not just your love for your hubby and family, but your reverence and love of nature in all her guises. What a privilege to read them Leila |
