JOIN WITH ME MY VALENTINE

Much the love I have for thee
Are you so blind you cannot see?
Feel my heart for just one beat
Take a breath and feel the heat

I long to hold your hand in mine
Pulsating through my very spine
And feel our bodies touch once more
To thrill my body to the core.

My love for you will never lie,
Please, don’t let our love just die
You are so special truly fine
Please, join with me my valentine.

The above picture reminds of where I was when I recited this poem.
The lighthouse would be where our hotel stood and if you can imagine
the cliffe edge to curve around at the left, well that would be where the bar was we sat at every night.
And of course the vision was me and my hubby.

A Romantic View

Sitting on a cliff edge my hubby and me.
Watching the ripples on the deep blue sea.
Splish splash against the rocks
Soaking and splashing my brand new frock

The red sun sets slowly on the horizon
Resting on the sea, its not surprising
We order a drink from the bar behind
We ask the waiter for a lemon and lime

As we sip through our refreshing drink
I look at my hubby saying it’s time to think.
We reminise our life in the past
And wonder how we can make life last

Wondering how we can slow down time
Knowing that our life’s been fine
Our family has grown and we watched it all
Oh! how the grandchildren have grown so tall

Where is the sun I don’t see it anymore
There’s only the moon appearing now
The scenery in front and the laughing behind
It’s so romantic here, we think it’s fine

The remaining years we will share together
They have more meaning now, and will forever
Its peacefull here as though time stood still
Maybe we should stay I’m sure we will.

COLOURED LEAVES OF AUTUMN

Autumn leaves tumbling to the ground
Changing their shades as they flutter around
Tints on trees so picturesqe to be seen
Brown, red, orange, yellow and green

The wind blowing through the newly shrewn leaves
While they dance around in the breeze
Sunshine enriched berries so vivid they glow
Making the most of a spectacular show

The glistening leaves lay in a bed
The yellow and orange enhancing the red
The autumn season brings so much hue
Abundance so brilliant vivid and new

NOT JUST MY FRIEND

It’s long since I sat on your knee
It felt so good when I was three
Curling my hair with your finger tips
Kissing me sweetly with your tender lips

I did grow up and soon moved on
I never thought you would soon be gone
Memories are all I have today
But love them dearly in a special way

You were so young, and short of years
I see you clearly in all my prayers
Your life was sure for dancing
And it certainly was enhancing

A beautiful face, never ageing through time
Remembering you so fresh and fine
And a smile, never to leave me somehow
That’s just how I remember you now

God gave me the chance to say goodbye
Standing by I tried not to cry
I always wished you could return
Just to be with you, one would yearn

To hold your hand for just one day
To look in your face and hope to say
You were so special I needed no other
Because you were just there being my mother

THINKING OF YOU AT CHRISTMAS TIME

It’s Christmas Eve and we’re apart
Your always here deep in my heart
I hope you know I’m thinking of you
I hope you don’t start feeling blue

The miles apart are long and far
We just need to wish upon a star
Time passing now till I return
While we’re apart I really yearn

As time ticks away by the hour
I think of you as a beautiful flower
When I return the sun will shine
The flower will open and you’ll be mine

You are the star I wish upon
You are the gem that I hold on
The love we share keeps on growing
The love we share just keeps on flowing

I smell your perfume in the breeze
It seems to flow right through the trees
I just want to give you a real hug tight
I want to be near and close tonight

A WINTER POEM

Winters arrived without a choice
Birds have migrated we miss their voice
They need to leave when summers gone
The trees so bare their leaves forgone

The swans are skidding on the an icy lake
Wings stretched wide and giving them a shake
Our winter birds are now arriving
For winters here their so busy flying

The skies now darkened for winter time
The sun so watery it barely shines
Foggy mornings are causing some havoc
Jamming up the rush hour traffic

Halloween witches took off in flight
Bonfires and fireworks so bright in the night
Cold feet and snow and wintery showers
The gardens so bare and with no pretty flowers

The mornings so dark when we awake
The evenings so cold and our bodies ache
Curtains drawn and candles burning
We just can’t wait for summer returning

Have some fun and feel relaxed even if to have a rest
We have lots of members and all are different
Some are mad and some are gifted

We came on tonight to do the quiz
Oh cath is just a real good whiz
Asking the questions one by one
Where’re all answering best we can

Before we know it the scores come through
Who is it this week? We wonder who!
What does it matter who had won
Where’re all just here for a bit of fun

Pamie is dishing out all the beer
Where’re always drunk by the time we cheer
Some complain and some just giggle
But that’s all part of having a tipple
