Really weird not to have Bingo tonight but great not to have been rushing around buying prizes. Mum didn't mention her foot at the Dr's yesterday VERY DIFFICULT !!!

Meeting Mum at lunchtime, she has to have another blood test this morning re glucose level. Hope she asks them to check out her foot. Its still swollen from her fall two weeks ago!!! She really should have had an xray!!

In the charity shop this morning recycling books, records etc and checking through any donated goods that have come in.Two silver goblets were donated last week I had them valued but they were indian silver plate so only worth £5. Never mind, every little helps

Starting to organise an Easter Fayre to raise money for the hospital, have booked a local hall in Redruth. Will do refreshments, and a raffle and have a book, cakes and tombola stall. Might do an Easter egg hunt if I can get a local map. ( people can guess on the map where the egg is buried) just an idea at the moment

Thanks for all the comments re the Bingo evening. I have written to the legion in reply to their letter and made my point. I have also copied their letter along with my comments to the local paper as I have spent the last few weeks advertising the bingo night ( posters, local radio & newspapers etc) !! Ive decided not to try and find another venue & hit the bingo on the head. Will raise money for the hospital in other ways.
I still feel very angry.

Redruth British Legion have raised their room rental to us so last night was the final bingo session. In the current economic situation you would think they would be glad of a regular income every week. There were a lot of disapointed people there last night. some elderly for who its their only night out.

Managed to get most of the prizes yesterday so just have to get Chops or a chicken and all the veggies etc so I can put a dinner together. Harveys Bristol cream was on offer so got a bottle for a line prize. Glad I don't play & just call the numbers wouldn't want to win sherry

Cold & cloudy today in Cornwall. Must get bingo prize shopping done ready for tomorrow night. Have already bought joints of pork & Gammon. Also had a bargain with a hairdryer & hot air brush in Superdrug, both for £10

Did laugh at the comments re me being a bag lady. No tattoos Cath or piercings I havn't even got my ears pierced. Don't like pain . I just seem to buy lots of bags, shopping bags, handbags and even a nice large spotty bag for when I go to my sisters for a few days. Working in the charity shop I'm tempted to bring them all home

The girls have a day off school today so we are going to Camborne shopping. Jenna 7yrs has a voucher for Smiths that someone gave her for xmas so it will be a big decision what to spend it on

Bitterly cold again, this weather seems to be going on for ever Mum seemed okay when I phoned yesterday. She won't go to the Dr !!! Is in a strop anyway as she has to see GP on Monday as her glucose level up !!!! It will be a nightmare if she is diabetic as I know she won't cut out all the foods she likes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had one of those days yesterday when nothing went right and Mum still came down on the bus to go with me for bingo despite having a fall in her kitchen She seemed okay other than a a painful foot!!!!!!!!!!

Redruth British Legion Bingo tonight. Bought lots of nice prizes. Whiskey,joints of meat,wine,choc's etc. Also got a lovely cookie jar in the shape of a V W van so got choc chip cookies to go with it. Hope its a busy night.

Our local travel agent has a three day trip to London advertised for the end of April. Might check it out for my sister and I. We missed out at New Year as we were both ill.

Taking it easy today as I overdid things yesterday in the charity shop. I'm hopeless really as I don't like to give in even when my body is telling me I should. Now I'm paying for it today I'm crippling around like an old biddy ( no rude remarks please )

Reading a really good murder book by Tess Gerritsen called Keeping the Dead, so far a mummified body and a shrunken head maybe I shouldn't read into the early hours as I woke up at 4.am having a nightmare

Off to Falmouth today with a friend. We are going to browse the charity shops for books and then to Trago for bingo prizes. Might get fish & chips for lunch . My quiz night tonight so hopefully fish & chips will help my brain work

Off to Tesco this morning for joints of meat, veg, wine etc to do up two house prizes for tonights bingo. Fingers crossed its busy .Hope the prizes are not won by a vegetarian Also need a few more raffle prizes. Running a Tombola tonight to raise some dosh for the hospital as well.

The roof is covered in frost and we have just had a snow shower. Don't think I am going far today other than to a friends tonight. Thats if we don't get lots of snow . Fed up with this cold weather.

Brilliant day in Exeter other than it was freezing cold. Went to the Ship Inn again for a meal. Lovely old pub that used to be frequented by Sir Francis Drake. Full of character with lovely old beamed ceilings etc. Me being mad about history I just love it.

Bingo was very quiet last night but it was so cold -3c, I think a lot of people stayed home in the warm. Hopefully it will improve and the weather will be warmer next week. Also fingers x people see my posters and come rushing along . Ive even advertised on both local radio stations and two local newspapers

My daughter went to see the new film avatar last night and said it was really good but a shame the Redruth cinema was so cold. They were freezing and had to keep their coats on !!!!

Interesting information on old gaols in the history section on here. Ive really enjoyed reading about them and its been great to do some research. Might have to check out some more later

Blowing a gale & the rain has just started but at least its not so cold. Went to Camborne today to look at the shops. Got the wrong bus home & ended up going the very very long way round .I went to areas Ive never been before a real mystery trip. The journey took an hour instead of the normal 15 minutes.

A very icy Cornwall this morning again. Many farmers having problems with the weather as each year they grow fields of cauliflowers and again this year ( 2nd year running ) the crop affected by frost & temps below - 10c . Normally this part of the world not affected too much by frosts & cold weather. Cauli being brought in from Italy & so expensive. They are talking of ploughing Cornish Cauli back into the ground

Feeling lost today without Sammy she has been with me for a lot of years, but couldn't let her suffer. She was an old lady. Blowing a gale in Cornwall but no snow yet.

Still icy and freezing cold. Walked and slid to Tesco yesterday & everyone seems to be panic buying There was a shortage of bread, soup, loo rolls and cat litter!! Think people are putting cat litter on the ice

Everything now frozen solid outside so I won't be going far today. Have my other grandaughter today as school closed and both my son & daughter in law working if they can get there.

I think I spoke too soon. We have had more snow today & now its freezing hard. Very unusual for Cornwall. We don't usually get weather like this. Went into town for bread & milk and the pavements etc like glass. Don't think I will be going out tomorrow.
