Bought two new fish yesterday so Grant & Tiff have joined Jack & Vera Hopefully they all get on okay.Grant & Tiff are a bit bigger than Jack & Vera my eyes must have been out of focus at the fish shop

Its book day today at school and my grandaughter going as The little Mermaid. Found a long green dress in the dressing up box & a turquoise flower for her hair & got some pearls in the charity shop. Glittery shoes & she is sorted If I managed to take a photo Ill post it on the forum.

In the charity shop again today sorting books and recycling. At least we recycle more now. A company comes and takes all our plastic,cardboard,paper & electrical items. We have always recycled clothes & got paid by the weight.

Ive kept fish for years & yesterday bought myself a much needed new fish tank. Its a bigger one and looks really good. Will now have to get a couple more fish as Jack & Vera look a bit lost in there

Snowdrops & crocus are flowering in my pots outside but its still so cold. Ive lived in Cornwall for over 20 years and Ive never known such a cold winter. Hope spring is around the corner.

No luck with a map of Redruth they are either huge or too small. Shall try the town council tomorrow, maybe the town clerk can print me one off

Had a better nights sleep last night and a nice evening out. Must go into Redruth today and try and get a map of the town as I want to do a treasure hunt at the Easter fayre. Will charge 50p a go and people can put on the map where they think the egg is buried. The person nearest the spot will win a big easter egg.

We had 120 doorstep bags full of donated goods come into the shop to be sorted and priced so I hope to get in there today and sort through the books which are piled up.

Really weird not to have Bingo tonight but great not to have been rushing around buying prizes. Mum didn't mention her foot at the Dr's yesterday VERY DIFFICULT !!!

Meeting Mum at lunchtime, she has to have another blood test this morning re glucose level. Hope she asks them to check out her foot. Its still swollen from her fall two weeks ago!!! She really should have had an xray!!

In the charity shop this morning recycling books, records etc and checking through any donated goods that have come in.Two silver goblets were donated last week I had them valued but they were indian silver plate so only worth £5. Never mind, every little helps

Starting to organise an Easter Fayre to raise money for the hospital, have booked a local hall in Redruth. Will do refreshments, and a raffle and have a book, cakes and tombola stall. Might do an Easter egg hunt if I can get a local map. ( people can guess on the map where the egg is buried) just an idea at the moment

Thanks for all the comments re the Bingo evening. I have written to the legion in reply to their letter and made my point. I have also copied their letter along with my comments to the local paper as I have spent the last few weeks advertising the bingo night ( posters, local radio & newspapers etc) !! Ive decided not to try and find another venue & hit the bingo on the head. Will raise money for the hospital in other ways.
I still feel very angry.

Redruth British Legion have raised their room rental to us so last night was the final bingo session. In the current economic situation you would think they would be glad of a regular income every week. There were a lot of disapointed people there last night. some elderly for who its their only night out.

Managed to get most of the prizes yesterday so just have to get Chops or a chicken and all the veggies etc so I can put a dinner together. Harveys Bristol cream was on offer so got a bottle for a line prize. Glad I don't play & just call the numbers wouldn't want to win sherry

Cold & cloudy today in Cornwall. Must get bingo prize shopping done ready for tomorrow night. Have already bought joints of pork & Gammon. Also had a bargain with a hairdryer & hot air brush in Superdrug, both for £10

Did laugh at the comments re me being a bag lady. No tattoos Cath or piercings I havn't even got my ears pierced. Don't like pain . I just seem to buy lots of bags, shopping bags, handbags and even a nice large spotty bag for when I go to my sisters for a few days. Working in the charity shop I'm tempted to bring them all home

Bitterly cold again, this weather seems to be going on for ever Mum seemed okay when I phoned yesterday. She won't go to the Dr !!! Is in a strop anyway as she has to see GP on Monday as her glucose level up !!!! It will be a nightmare if she is diabetic as I know she won't cut out all the foods she likes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Redruth British Legion Bingo tonight. Bought lots of nice prizes. Whiskey,joints of meat,wine,choc's etc. Also got a lovely cookie jar in the shape of a V W van so got choc chip cookies to go with it. Hope its a busy night.

Our local travel agent has a three day trip to London advertised for the end of April. Might check it out for my sister and I. We missed out at New Year as we were both ill.

The roof is covered in frost and we have just had a snow shower. Don't think I am going far today other than to a friends tonight. Thats if we don't get lots of snow . Fed up with this cold weather.

Brilliant day in Exeter other than it was freezing cold. Went to the Ship Inn again for a meal. Lovely old pub that used to be frequented by Sir Francis Drake. Full of character with lovely old beamed ceilings etc. Me being mad about history I just love it.

Bingo was very quiet last night but it was so cold -3c, I think a lot of people stayed home in the warm. Hopefully it will improve and the weather will be warmer next week. My daughter went to see the new film avatar last night and said it was really good but a shame the Redruth cinema was so cold. They were freezing and had to keep their coats on !!!!

Very busy in Truro yesterday lots of sales. Didn't buy much but enjoyed fish & chips .

Roast pork for lunch today, will need to go back to swimming & work off all this food Ive eaten over the last few weeks.
