Why are opera-lovers so sniffy...? I'm no expert (short of Andrea Bocelli and Nessun Dorma) but even I can see that opera can be so stirring and moving. It's not for everybody, but surely everybody should have a chance to hear it. Not be surrounded by this kind of elitist field.

Hi there , yes indeed there is so much excitment in opera , but I think it is because only the "posh" went to it for so long it has that image :love Judi

Hi Simon,

I like some opera's too, but I'm as common as muck!

I think the snob tag came about because the upper crust of society were the only people who could afford to go to the opera. The music hall was for the rest of us.....

Well actually someone did describe my voice as posh when they heard my poetry readings, but I don't think the rest of me is as posh as my voice .. me in my yellow wellies and a skirt made from a fleecy blanket Rolling Eyes :giggle3 Judi

"posh' is an exclusive area...
