TOFFEE
Now Toffee is what they called me I quite like the name, Yes, it rather suits me And yes, i'm rather vain,
I catch a glimpse occasionally In the mirror and think, is that me? Yes, i'm pretty and i sit there For hours, just looking at me,
I have long fur, all colours Mostly brown, black and white I am very nicely proportioned And i'm not allowed out at night,
My eyes and my whiskers are pretty My tail twitches when i walk My claws are long, just like talons And i meow when i want to talk,
I'm old Toffee, i'm not so stupid In fact, i get my own way All i do is just sit there I don't need to talk or to say Can i have my dinner? Cos it's just put there for me Me! i'm just old Toffee Silly? no, not me.
A CHRISTMAS FAIRY
a little wee fairy on top of the tree with lights shinning brightly for you and me. a little wee fairy for christmas day keeping us safe on this special day. a little wee fairy with shinny wings a happy christmas to all she brings.

A SNOWMAN
The snow was thick, as it started to fall Mummy, can i build a snowman, over there by the wall? he was tall and hansome, he stood there with pride with a sprout for a nose, and coal for his eyes. Mummy, he's finished, i'm calling him billy cos he's all cold and snowy and looks very chilly. But the cold winds blew and poor billy fell his head was all broken, his body as well. he fell in a heap, on the cold snowy ground he was gone ,poor old billy ,lay still, not a sound. gone and lost, like all snowmen do the sprout was lost, the coal broke in two. but next day, after a cold snowy night the sun was out, a winters day bright so the snowman lay buried, never more to be seen and no trace, not at all ,where the snowman had been and so the snow melted and spring came along and the birds in the trees sang their chirrpy song no sign of winter no snow about just the spring flowers, two bits of coal and a sprout.

JANUARY SALES
It seems to me that people have a thing for new year sales, must get that special offer t.v, or bathroom scales, even if they have one but it says, half price, doesn't matter if we have it or even buy it twice, half price cards, or that christmas tree i'll buy it now then we'll have three, musn't miss a bargain queue up before it goes bags and bags of shopping people treading on our toes, quick, another bargain on another floor, teapot with matching milk jug half price, if you buy four, twenty bags of shopping must get those shoes and dress, and a pot of evening primrose to take away the stress, two jumpers for the summer and a skirt ,that has red flicks and i'll even get a nightdress even though i think i've six, by this time i am sweating must dash as time rolls on, i've only got two hours left before the best sale things are gone, you run along to hardware bargain buckets, i'm in heaven dishcloths, sponges for ten pence, good, then i'll have seven, time to go, youv'e had enough and it's getting late, but then i'll be back tomorrow cos they open up at eight. By Janx HAPPY SHOPPING.
