NIGHT VISION by Mike ~ The stars came down on us that night creating a low ceiling, We tasted mists of morning reeling through the pines. A spark from some untended pyre burned truly in the middle air. Once stoked finely by the host of human tread, It bled, refined into a rapier before our eyes. We strained to grasp the pattern of its flight But lost our vision to the fading night. Written by Mike.......

I will add it to the player.

Pop Up Chatbox
We also have a pop up chatbox for anyone wishing
to chat. Just click on chat link and log in at right
hand top corner of the chat box. You should be
able to start chatting, please give it a try.

POETRY AND FRIENDS COMPETITIONS

We have merged both the themed and freestyle
competition into one. This will reduce the
amount of judges we need each month and will
allow us to have a stand in competition manager.

Lorraine will run the competitions starting 1st
October. Sheofwolf will be stand in manager to
cover in the event others are absent.
Please see link below regarding the amount
of competition entries allowed per person.

COMPETITION ENTRIES MOVED TO JUDGING

Please Note: When poems are in judging you will have

If judges comment on your poem whilst it is in judging

your poem from the email you will receive a message to

There is a player on the portal page and you can listen to
poetry out loud. At the moment we only have two members
that have recorded poetry. If you are able to read poetry
out loud and record it, please do so and send your MP3 to
me by email at poetryforpleasure@live.com If you need
instructions to record please contact maggie.

MEMBERS BLOGS

Maggie has set up a forum for members blogs.
Anything you write in these blogs can be uploaded to
all networks, like Twitter, Facebook, Windows Live
and many more.

If there are only a few wanting this service then they can
have a blog attached to their poetry forum here. If there
are a lot of members wanting a blog we will have to use
the blog forum.

After experimenting with the blog option it appears that
one blog can be used by all members to upload their
stuff to Twitter or whatever. So we are still experimenting.
Maggie uploaded stuff to twitter and it pulled in as many as
20 readers and was quite surprised. Blogs are handy
to get messages to a wide audience and that is about
all really.

If you want a blog to try out you can register there.
Please see button at the top of the forum named blogs.

Here is the link to a Poetry And Friends Blog that
anyone can use. POETRY AND FRIENDS DAILY BLOG
So why not start blogging today.

BLOG CHAT EVENING 8Pm -3rd November

If you want to know more about blogs I will be in the
chatbox at 8pm on Tuesday 3rd November to discuss blogs,
Twitter and Myspace etc. Please let Maggie know if you
can attend

Calendars

The new 2010 calendars will be on sale in
October/November. Some calendars have been
posted so hopefully you will receive them this week.
Any members that have ordered calendars please pay
as soon as possible so maggie can get them posted..

There are still calendars left to purchase so please
dig in your pockets and help support Poetry & Friends.

If all calendars sell we will make a profit for the fund
of around £100.00. I would like to thank David Miller
for supplying the artwork free. Last year it cost £80.00
so it's thanks to David that we might make a little profit
from the sale of the calendars this year.
