Re: POETRY AND FRIENDS BY LEO

Hi everyone - My name is Leo, short for Leonora, and I have lived, with my husband Mike for forteen years in the South West of France.
Like Tiggee I have, from earliest childhood, written stories, plays, and even full length Pantomimes. But writing Poetry is a fairly new art-fom for me. I was persuaded to join a very small poetry writing group by a friend - and to tell the truth, I was terrified! affraid The other four women were all so knowlegable, and well educated - while I had left school on my fifteenth birthday.
Soon after joining them, I was trying to swat up on poetry, so as not to look too daft in front of the others; and I found Poetry & Friends online. That was a lucky day! Here was a chance to test out some of my early attempts, and the members seemed extremely friendly. Since then, I have enjoyed reading all the different kinds of poetry, and made a few good friends, who feel the same way I do, and with whom I am comfortable.
Like everyone else, I have my favourite writers, and enjoy looking up their latest offerings on their Home forums.
I tend not to look at the portal to find new poems and stories; mostly because sometimes, members opt to post a mass of comments and poems at one time - which of course pushes new works off the portal very quickly. It can be disappointing for a writer, (particularly a new member) to work for hours, or even days on a poem, only to see it disappear from the portal after a few minutes.
Maggie and the Moderators, (sound like a Pop Group don't they?) do a great job keeping us all in order, and managing the techie side of things - and I am full of awe and gratitude!.

I thank all of you, for the hours of pleasure I have received as part of Poetry & Friends.
