NIGHT
VISION by Mike ~ The stars came down on us that night creating a low
ceiling, We tasted mists of morning reeling through the pines. A spark
from some untended pyre burned truly in the middle air. Once stoked
finely by the host of human tread, It bled, refined into a rapier before
our eyes. We strained to grasp the pattern of its flight But lost our
vision to the fading night. Written by Mike.......

| The fever took hold when I was young, I wasn't very highly strung, but the fever turns my beating head, into worry, and how to survive, this terrible dread. Upon the curtains, I closely stare, where the demons I think are hiding there. I cry out so pathetically,no one can hear, and no one can see.
Now my body, begins to shake, my tongue is dry and begins to cake, I shiver,it feels so cold in here, there is a fire, but is it fear? A call for help, and I start to cry, I think I am, to young to die, I hear a noise upon the stair, and see my mother standing there.
She holds me gently in her arms, with a cloth she wipes my sweating palms, I thank God for mothers everywhwere, for their love, their care they want to share. My tender body is turning red, my skin very soon I will slowly shed, Scarlet Fever is what I had, I have never ever, felt quite so bad. Scarlet Fever could have finished me, but I'm still here as you can see!

What an ordeal, so glad you recovered. My partner recalls having this and being dunked in freezing cold water, presumably to bring his temperature down! Don't suppose they do that now. A well written piece on your experiences and as you say, thank God for mothers.

Your poem reminded me of when I caught Asian flu, everyone was dropping like flies. Of course mum looked after us all until she caught it, then my amazing gran came to the rescue. Where would we have been without grandma's too?

Thanks Sue, I just wanted mum to make it alright again but sadly,it was two weeks before I recovered from the fever ,and another week before I could mix with anybody. It was an experiance I would not want to go through again.I lived through a nightmare, you cant imagine the fright.

Yes My twin Chris got it too, but to a much lesser degree, he didnt have such a high fever or the hallucinations ,they really were the worst , I believed I could see aliens coming out of my curtain and they were going to kill me.Thanks for reading Cherry, appreciate it.
