ABOUT ME (KIM RODRIGUEZ)

Just a little about myself and my artwork. My name is Kim Rodriguez and I live in Montana.

I started pencil sketching and would draw anytime and anywhere. I was in
my 20's when I decided to try my hand out in oil painting. That is when
i truly realized that God had given me a true gift. It always amazes me
as I paint and watch my subject come to life on the canvas.

I paint on a variety of surfaces. Rocks, sawblades, frying skillets,
canvas and I have even done wooden toilet seats. (they make great
cribbage boards). As long as the paint will stick I will paint it.

Most of my paintings are done for fundraisers or as gifts. The original will
never be sold, as I feel deeply in my heart that without God I could
not move a paint brush. Therefore the original will always be a gift
that is freely given, never bought. As my gift was freely given to me.

I am working on getting prints made of the paintings i have been able to
track down. These I hope to sell, and part of the proceeds will go to
funding this wonderful poetry site. Poetry and Friends Poetry Group has
enabled me to find another wonderful gift tucked inside me. God has
blessed me with writing, and I am currently writing a novel. My poetry
is an emotional outlet, not perfect in anyway. But the novel is my
heart, and my desire is to see it completed. If only one person is
blessed by it, then my journey is complete.

I give my many thanks to the ones that continue to inspire me to keep going and not give up.
